The rule of thumb
- With the meal: half a 75cl bottle per adult, about three glasses each.
- For the toast: one glass of fizz per adult. A 75cl bottle pours six.
- Who to count: adults. My packages are priced per adult guest, and children have their own menu.
Bottles by guest numbers
| Adult guests | Wine with the meal | Fizz for the toast | Total bottles |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 | 30 | 10 | 40 |
| 80 | 40 | 14 | 54 |
| 100 | 50 | 17 | 67 |
| 120 | 60 | 20 | 80 |
| 150 | 75 | 25 | 100 |
Bottle counts are rounded up. The evening bar is extra.
Splitting it between white, red and rosé
There's no fixed rule; it depends on your guests and your menu. In my wine packages you set the split yourself and the calculator turns it into bottles. With 100 guests and a 40/30/30 split, that's 20 bottles of white, 15 red and 15 rosé.
Buying it from your caterer or bringing your own
My wine packages include the wine, the fizz for the toast, pouring and glassware: Classic at £16 a guest, Reserve at £20 and Grand at £24. For 100 guests the Classic package is £1,600.
If you'd rather bring your own, pouring and glassware are £4.50 a guest plus £10 corkage a bottle. For 100 guests and 67 bottles that's £1,120, before you buy the wine.
